Our client is inventing the technologies needed for future augmented reality and virtual reality products by performing breakthrough research in contextual AI, computer vision, optics, eye tracking, human-computer interaction, machine learning, and mixed reality that will create the foundation for groundbreaking AR and VR experiences. This team, whose mission is to invent and develop new technologies for interacting with AR and VR devices, is looking for an Interim Research Communications Program Manager to help share the vision for their work within their team and internal partners. Our client is looking for a candidate with experience owning communications across a large, distributed, cross-functional team - someone who can make sure everyone on the team knows what great work is being done and how their own work fits into the larger research vision. RESPONSIBILITIES Drive quarterly research program reports communication. Develop and execute across communication channels. Maintain a team editorial calendar, to ensure a consistent rhythm of communications to support business priorities. Support executive organizational communications rhythm of business, including executive All Hands, internal conference speeches, fireside chats, and special communications events. Work with research program leads to communicate their research teams' work. Drive alignment with key partners and leaders, proactively identifying and mitigating potential setbacks and keeping key partners appraised on progress and status. Support daily communications operations related to team information management, including internal Web site, Wiki, and publication review. Own communication improvements within the team and with partners, and represent dependencies, deliverables, needs. Serve as an advisor to operations and program management office (PMO) processes. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Experience in communications at a tech company or research organization. Experience in technical and scientific storytelling, and producing documents that communicate technical and scientific concepts to both experts and non-experts. Experience developing and driving a communications roadmap, aligning with partners across teams and disciplines. Interpersonal skills, including relationship building and collaboration within a diverse, cross-functional team. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Degree in communications or a related field. Demonstrable excellence in digital storytelling across multiple channels. Community management or public relations experience for scientific research. The target hiring compensation range for this role is $85 to $90/hr. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
